A chemical peel is a skin resurfacing technique to improve the appearance of the skin. A solution is applied to the skin which causes it to exfoliate and "peel off". There are many chemical peels available that range from superficial to deep. The choice depends on the desired depth of penetration, treatment effect, and recovery time. Typically, the deeper the peel, the greater the results, but they are also associated with greater recovery period and adverse effects.

TCA is one of the most famous, long tested acid peels available. TCA stands for trichloroacetic acid. It is a medium depth peel that has been used with excellent results for over 135 years! That is right. TCA, is an effective chemical agent used to exfoliate and renew the skin on a superficial to deep level. TCA is commonly applied to the face, neck, décolleté, hands and legs.
